Webstrings: Remy van Kesteren on life & harp
Final preps
Monday I will fly off to Tel-Aviv. The dramatic climax of two years (even more dramatic: a lifetime) of hard work. You would say plenty of time to prepare everything to the fullest, but these last couple of days might actually turn out to be quite crucial. For today I finally played the Beethoven Serenade in a proper setting (instead of violin and sax: flute and viola), and tomorrow I will run through the sinister Conte Fantastique by Caplet with string quartet (ensembling the cd-recording just doesn’t seem to convoke the best interplay). But even though I am happy that I have managed to arrange it, it makes me wonder a little if it was really necessary to postpone this somewhat relevent part of the preparations to half a week before it all unleashes in Israel. Hopefully I’ll get that under control if I ever decide to focus on a similar time consuming project.
