This week Isabelle Moretti was in Amsterdam to give master classes. What an opportunity to get a lesson of one of the best, if not the best harpist in the world. Unfortunately, as a student from the Utrecht Conservatory, no such luck for me. But we were allowed to come and listen, so for two days I persistently hung around to ensure I absorbed as much of her knowledge and expertise as I could.
It was breathtaking to see how much she achieved in the short time available. With all students, each different in level of musicality and technique, she almost immediately got to the core of what you as an audience could feel but not allocate. And it might have been her French charm or her heartfelt personality, but I was not able to disagree on anything she said. More so, it felt she put all my thoughts into words.
How great to be affirmed in your belief with Easter.
